Clutch Pedal Assembly: Service and Repair
Replacement

NOTE:

Before replacing clutch cable, check operation

^

Observe general repair instructions. 

^

Lubricate all bearings and friction surfaces with MoS2 grease.

WARNING:  Always replace self-locking nuts and circlips during repairs.

CAUTION:  Before working on pedal cluster:

Obtain security code for anti-theft radio.

^

Disconnect battery Ground (GND) strap.

COMPONENT NOTES AND INFORMATION

Clutch cable

Vehicles with gasoline spark-ignition engine only

Clutch cable with integral vibration damper (arrow)

For vehicles with Diesel engine

Can remain installed during removal of clutch cable

Bracket with Accelerator Pedal
-

First remove steering column with sleeve, refer to Steering and Suspension

Self-locking nut
-

Bracket -7- to threaded studs on vacuum brake booster

-

Tighten to: 25 Nm (18 ft lb)

-

Always replace

Self-locking nut
-

Bracket -7- to threaded studs on mounting plate

-

Tighten to: 25 Nm (18 ft lb)

Always replace

Attachment bolts, bracket to assembly support

Bracket -7- to support

-

Tighten to: 25 Nm (18 ft lb)

Pivot pin for clutch pedal and brake pedal

Installation position, refer to Fig. 1 below.
