Camshaft Oil Seal: Service and Repair
Camshaft oil seal, removing and installing
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Torque wrench (5 to 50 Nm) V.A.G 1331

Torque wrench (40 to 200 Nm) V.A.G 1332

Bolt M12 x 1.5 x 65
Removing
-
Remove toothed belt.

Remove camshaft pulley and hub.

Unscrew inner part of oil seal extractor 3240 two turns (approx. 3 mm) out of outer part and lock with knurled screw.

Lubricate threaded head of oil seal extractor, place it in position and exerting firm pressure, screw it as far as possible into oil seal.

Loosen knurled screw and turn inner part against camshaft until oil seal is pulled out.
