1. Exhaust Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL)
2. Glow Plug Indicator Light
NOTE:
low Plug Indicator Light has a dual function:
-
Blinking: Malfunctions were detected which influence driveability.
-
Lighting up when ignition is switched on: Normally appears when starting up a cold diesel engine.
-
The exhaust Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) is switched on as soon as malfunctions are detected that worsen emissions. DTC memory must be
checked in this case, Diagnostic mode 3: Check DTC memory. See: Testing and Inspection/Scan Tool Testing and Procedures/With Generic Scan
Tool/Diagnostic Mode 3: Check DTC Memory
-
DTC memory must still be checked if there are driveability problems or customer complaints and the MIL is not lit, since malfunctions can be
stored without causing the MIL to light immediately.
