Measure sensor resistance between terminals 1 + 2 at connector to sensor.

Vehicles with engine code ALH:
Specified value: 1.1 to 1.6 k Ohms
Vehicles with engine code BEW:
Specified value: 450 to 550 Ohms

Continue for all vehicles

If specified value is not obtained:

Replace Engine Speed (RPM) Sensor -G28-

Connect test box to control module wiring harness, connect test box for wiring test. See: Computers and Control Systems/Testing and
Inspection/Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes/Scan Tool Connecting/Test Box, Connecting For Wiring Test

Vehicles with 80-pin control module

Check wires between test box and 3-pin connector for open circuits according to wiring diagram.

Terminal 1 + socket 69
Terminal 2 + socket 67
Terminal 3 + socket 71
Wire resistance: max. 1.5 Ohms
