Yaw Rate Sensor: Service and Repair

ESP-sensor unit G419, removing and installing 

ESP Sensor Unit G419 consists of Transverse Acceleration Sensor G200 and Rotation Rate Sensor G202. They are installed in one housing under
front passengers seat.

After replacing ESP Sensor Unit G419, a basic setting must be performed for Transverse Acceleration Sensor G200.

CAUTION! Excessive shaking (e.g. dropping, impact) may destroy the ESP Sensor Unit G419. ESP Sensor Unit G419 must no longer be
used.

ESP Sensor Unit G419, removing

Remove front passengers seat.

-

Remove sill panel trim and lift carpet.

-

Remove connector station and insert through opening in felt mat. 

-

Lift felt mat.

-

Disconnect connector - 1 - from ESP Sensor Unit G419.

Remove two mounting nuts - arrows -.

-

Remove ESP Sensor Unit G419.

ESP Sensor Unit G419, installing

Installation is in reverse order of removal, with special attention to the following:

When installing ESP Sensor Unit G419, make sure it is properly seated on the bracket and is free of tension.

Note:

Never force ESP Sensor Unit G419 into position using the mounting nuts.

Tighten securing nuts to 9 Nm. 

-

Perform basic setting of Transverse Acceleration Sensor G200.
