Anti-theft Engine Control Module (ECM), removing and installing
Engine Control Module (ECM), removing and installing
NOTE: If it is desired to replace Engine Control Module (ECM), connect Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 and perform
the guided function "Replace control module".
Removing
-
Switch off ignition.

Remove wiper arms and plenum chamber cover
-
Remove plenum chamber bulkhead
-
Release and disconnect front connector - 1 - from Engine Control Module (ECM).

Pry retainer - 2 - open slightly.

Push engine control module out of retainer - arrow -.

Release rear connector from engine control module (ECM) and disconnect it.
Installing
-
Connect rear connector to Engine Control Module (ECM) and lock it into place.

Push Engine Control Module (ECM) onto retaining plate.
-
Connect front connector to ECM and lock it into place.

Install plenum chamber bulkhead
-
Install wiper arms and plenum chamber cover
Engine Control Module (ECM) with anti-theft immobilizer, removing and installing
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
