Steering Gear, Generation 3

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Ball joint puller (3287A)

‹› Torque wrench 5-50 Nm (VAG 1331)

‹› Torque wrench 40-200 Nm (VAG 1332)

‹› Engine and transmission jack (VAG 1383A)

Removing

-

Disconnect the battery.

-

Remove the footwell trim, remove nuts - arrows - to do so.

-

Remove the bolt - 1 - and remove the universal joint -  2 - from the steering gear.
