There are 2 different distances between the ball tracks of the ball hub, a large and a small one.

Insert the hub with the cage and balls upright into the joint piece, a smaller space - b - must face toward the open side of the joint piece when
doing this.

Also observe the chamfer on the inner diameter of the ball hub which must be visible after swinging in.

Swing in the ball hub; to do so, swing out the hub far enough out of the cage - arrows - (as depicted in illustration).

Swing in the hub with the ball bearings by pressing forcefully onto the cage - arrow -.

CV joint, checking for function

CV joint is properly assembled, if the ball hub can be slid back and forth by hand over the whole compensation length.
