Air Injection Control Valve: Testing and Inspection
Combination Valve, Checking

With Manufacturer's Scan Tool

Combi-valve, checking

Special tools and equipment

^

VAG 1390 Hand vacuum pump

Test conditions
^

Vacuum lines and hose connections free of leaks.

^

Pressure hose for secondary air injection pump motor not blocked or kinked.

^

Vacuum lines not blocked or kinked.

^

No DTC stored in DTC memory

^

Perform output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM)
Refer to Powertrain Management

Test sequence

Note:  Do not use compressed air during the following check!

Remove engine cover.

-

Remove intake hose between Mass Air Flow (MAP) sensor and throttle valve control module

-

Pull vacuum hose off secondary air injection (AIR) solenoid valve -N112- and combi-valve -arrow-.
