Strut Mount: Service and Repair

Mounting Bracket with Bushing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Guide pin (VW 439)

‹› Thrust plate (VW 401)

‹› Thrust plate (VW 402)

‹› Tube 31.5 mm dia. (VW 418A)

Removing

The bushing is only available with the mounting bracket as one replacement part.

Press off the mounting bracket with bushing from the control arm. 

‹› Hold the control arm while pressing out the control arm.

Installing

-

Coat the hex of the control arm using thinned installation lubricant (G 294 421 A1) (1:20).

-

Carefully press the mounting bracket with bushing onto the control arm until seated.
