Selector Lever Handle, Removing and Installing

Selector lever handle, removing and installing, 09A, 5 Spd. A/T 

There are various handles which are removed and installed in different ways.

Before starting disassembly work:

-

Slide sleeve on selector lever downward and check color of plastic part in handle (arrow).

Red-brown plastic: This handle can replace handle with black plastic part.

Removing 
-

Pull upward on handle but do not press button.

Note:   If button is inadvertently pressed, use compressed air and carefully blow button outward again.

Ensure always that button is projecting at lease 10 mm -a- when installing.

Slowly pull button by hand past perceptible pressure point so that it will not fall back again.

Push handle onto selector lever to install

Removing handle with black plastic part

Shift selector lever to position "R".
