Installing
Installing
  Note
t  These steps must be followed exactly to ensure the liner lies correctly on the rear window.
t  Stick convertible roof liner bonding strip onto C-pillar using double-sided adhesive tape.
Additional steps for vehicles with a manually operated roof → Anchor
   
–  Position liner exactly in the centre of the spoiler beading -arrows- (initial fixture).

–  The use of a plastic head hammer is recommended to ensure the spoiler beading is fitted correctly.

–  Insert a rivet on both sides of the spoiler beading -arrow-.
  Note
The convertible roof should be half opened before proceeding further. This eases the installation of the lining.

–  Insert the liner into the 2nd fixture. Ensure that the white line -arrow- aligns with the centre of the cover.

–  Install liner over the frames -arrows-.

–  Insert the liner into the 3rd fixture -arrow-.

–  Insert the liner into the 5th fixture -arrow A- in the vicinity of the convertible roof front latch -arrow B-.

–  Install securing screw.

–  Install roof leading edge trim.

–  Install tensioning cord -arrow- to both sides of roof frame.

–  The roof frame seats under the rear window -circled-.

–  Open the convertible roof to install the liner to the rear window and leave a gap of approx. 10 cm between the roof latch and the roof cover.

–  Install one side of the liner -arrow- to the rear window by starting at the top and then from the bottom of the window. Repeat this step on the other side.
–  Close the roof, without pulling on the handle, to prevent the side of the liner loosening.

–  Pull all four corners of the liner in the direction of the -arrows-.

–  Insert the upper and middle parts of the liner. Start by pressing the liner onto the upper part of the rear window.
  Note
If the lower part of the liner cannot be inserted correctly, release the upper middle part of the liner and start again. Start this time at the bottom and work upwards.

–  A plastic head hammer should be used, as shown, when inserting the liner into the rear window.
Vehicles with manually operated convertible roof only
In vehicles with manual convertible roof, the following procedures must be performed additionally.

–  If part of original equipment, insert new staples in the clamping profile -1- of the rear padding belt -arrows- (4 per side).
  Note
The distance between the staples is not important.

–  If necessary, insert convertible roof cover -1- into the convertible roof retaining rail -2- in opposite -direction of arrow-.

–  Insert clamping profile -1- of the rear padding belt into the convertible roof retaining frame -2- in -direction of arrow-.

–  Install the three securing bolts -arrows- to both sides of rear padding belt clamping profile and convertible roof retaining frame.
Continuation for vehicles with electrohydraulic convertible roof
Further installation is carried out in the reverse order.
