Removing
In vehicles with a manually operated convertible roof the removal of the padding on the roof leading edge, hoop 1 and hoop 2 have already been described in the removal of the convertible roof cover. To remove the padding completely, follow these procedures.
–  Remove convertible roof cover:
t  Electrohydraulic convertible roof → Chapter
t  Manually operated convertible roof → Chapter
   
–  Remove C-pillar padding securing bolts from convertible roof fabric retaining frame and pull clamping beading out -arrow-.

–  Guide wiring for heated rear window and hinge through padding material.

–  Remove securing bolt on convertible roof frame for liner rubber cord.
  WARNING
For reasons of safety, tension rubber cord when removing screw (relieves tension at screw).
–  Pull rubber cord out of loop on convertible roof liner.

–  Pull beading out of roof leading edge.
–  Open convertible roof to half-open position.
–  Remove convertible roof liner up to the rear hoop → Chapter

–  Remove securing bolts -1- from sides of hoops 2 and 4.
–  Remove securing screws from centre of hoops 2 and 4.

–  Remove securing screw for guiding rubber cord on hoop 3 to convertible roof frame tensioning cord -arrow-.

–  Remove screw for securing guiding rubber cord to hoop 2 -arrow-.
  WARNING
For reasons of safety, tension rubber cord when removing screw (relieves tension at screw).
–  Fold padding material to rear.

–  Pull padding out of hoop -arrow- to side.
