–  Remove front door trim → General body repairs, interior; Rep. Gr.70.
   
–  Disconnect connection for exterior mirror and unhook wiring from assembly carrier and door -arrows-.
–  Wrap adhesive tape around connector to ease threading (catches easily in door otherwise) or push contacts out of connector housing with removal tool -VAS 1978-.

–  Remove screws -1- and take triangular-shaped trim -2- off towards rear -arrow-.

–  Remove bolts -1- and take exterior mirror -2- off door hinge -3-. Prescribed torque: Bolts -1- = 10 Nm
  Note
t  Hidden bolt/screw is accessible once door is opened.
t  Guide electrical wiring through door openings.
–  Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
–  Route and secure electrical wiring correctly, especially in vicinity of the window slot, otherwise it is possible that the window will be blocked when opening or closing the window. Perform functional check.
