  Note
t  The removal and installation procedures may have to be modified slightly depending on equipment variants.
t  Obtain radio unit code before disconnecting battery.
–  Remove ashtray -26- and drink holder -27-.

   
–  Pull handbrake lever on, release trim using a screwdriver and pull trim forwards off handbrake lever -arrow-.

–  Unclip gearstick boot -1- from gearstick on centre console and slide upwards.
–  Only if required for further work, remove clamp -2- and remove gearstick along with boot.

Installing clip → 5-speed manual gearbox 02J; Rep. gr.34.

–  Pull cover -8- off and disconnect connector for cigarette lighter -7-.
–  Remove storage compartment -11-.
–  Remove bolts -25-.
–  Pull off cover -23-.
–  Remove bolts -22-.
–  Unclip top of cover -21- and pull out upwards.
–  Unclip cover caps -3- and remove bolts -2-.
–  Remove bolts -13-.
–  Unclip cover -9- at front and take off upwards.
–  Remove bolts -29-.
–  Remove nuts -30-.
–  Remove armrest -20- upwards.
–  Remove bolts -4- and -31-
–  Lift rear of centre console -1-, pull to rear and take and off upwards over the gearstick.
