Safety regulations for belt tensioners |
WARNING t
| Testing, removing, installing and repair work may only be performed by qualified personnel. |

| Belt tensioner components may be neither opened nor repaired; always use new parts (danger of accident). |

| Belt tensioner units which have received hard blows or been dropped on the floor must not be installed in vehicles. |
t
| Belt tensioner units which are mechanically damaged (dents, fractures) always must be renewed. |
t
| Store and transport belt tensioner units according to respective legislation for explosive substances. |
t
| Airbag and seat belt tensioner units, which have not been triggered, must be marked accordingly and returned to manufacturer for disposal in an airbag transportation container. |
t
| Belt tensioners which have been ignited may be disposed of as normal scrap. |
t
| A belt tensioner unit must be installed immediately after removal from its packaging. |

WARNING t
| When dismantling belt tensioners, do not employ hammer-type movements and do not use tools such as an impact screwdriver. |
t
| If work is interrupted, the belt tensioner unit must be returned to its packaging. |
t
| Leaving the belt tensioner unit unattended is prohibited. |
t
| The belt tensioner must not be treated with grease, cleaning or similar substances, nor may it be exposed to temperatures above 100°C, even for short periods. |
t
| The pyrotechnic propellant has no expiry date; i.e. it has unlimited, maintenance-free life. |
