Installing > < Removing and installing left backrest locking device (two-piece (split) backrest)

Removing
–  Remove backrest → Chapter.
–  Remove padding → Chapter.
   
–  Press connecting rod -1- ball joint off locking hooks -2- with a screwdriver -arrow-.

–  Release circlip -1- from pin -2-.
–  Using a small screwdriver release spring -3- from backrest -4-.
–  Pull pin -2- out of backrest -4-, when doing this hold spring -3- with pliers and pull out.

–  Unclip operating rod -1- in clip -2- by swinging to right -arrow- and pull out of clip.
–  Take clip -2- off release rod -3-.

–  Dismantle release rods -1- and -2- and clips -4- from rear bulkhead -3-.
  Note
t  The release rods -1- and -2- must be taken out upwards together out of backrest or inserted together when installing.
t  The clips -4- can be dismantled from the rear bulkhead, when the spreader pin is pushed out of the clip. (Remove spreader pin from rear bulkhead ready for reinstallation).
