| Measure distance between poly V-belt pulley -2- and clutch plate -3- with a depth gauge -1- and note measurement. |
| Perform three measurements at different locations offset by 120°. The measurements must not deviate. |
| Determining measurement “2” |

| Separate connector -4- on air conditioner compressor. |

| Attach connector -4- to positive terminal of vehicle battery using an auxiliary cable. |

| Switch on ignition and air conditioning system (blower speed 1). Magnetic clutch must close. |

| Measure distance between poly V-belt pulley -2- and clutch plate -3- with a depth gauge -1- and note measurement. Measure at the same locations as for dimension “1”. |
| The clearance is the difference between measurement “1” and measurement “2”. |

| The clearance must lie within permitted tolerances over the complete circumference. |

| The clearance can also be measured when the air conditioner compressor is installed. |

| If the clearance is outside the permitted range, remove the clutch plate and adjust the clearance by removing or adding spacers. |
