Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Torque wrench (5...50 Nm) -V.A.G 1331-
  Note
t  The bracket for air conditioner compressor and related components can be removed and installed without the refrigerant circuit being opened.
t  Remove ancillaries before removal.
t  To remove poly V-belt: → Power unit; Rep. Gr.13.
t  Routing poly V-belt → Chapter
t  To remove power steering vane pump: → Running gear, axles, steering; Rep. Gr.48.
t  To remove alternator or compact alternator: → Electrical system; Rep. Gr.27.

  Note
When installing an aluminium cylinder block, it is necessary to renew securing bolts for bracket, but not if a grey cast-iron cylinder block is installed.
1 - Bracket for air conditioner compressor
  Note
Two different versions of bracket have been fitted:
l  Version -A- with bush → Fig.
l  Version -B- without bush → Fig.
l  Note tightening sequence of securing bolts when installing bracket → Fig..
2 - Intake manifold support

  Note

Tightening sequence of bolts
–  First position bracket with bolts -1- and -2-, then screw in other bolts in their numbered sequence.
