VAG 1598/31 test box

VAG 1526 hand multimeter or VAG 1715 multimeter

VAG 1527 voltage tester

Electrical Wiring Diagrams

Test conditions

-

All fuses must be OK

-

Battery voltage must be at least 11.5 V

-

Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor -G40- must be OK, checking. See: Computers and Control Systems/Testing and Inspection/Component Tests and
General Diagnostics/Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor, Checking

Engine speed (RPM) sensor must be OK, checking. See: Computers and Control Systems/Testing and Inspection/Component Tests and General
Diagnostics/Engine Speed (RPM) Sensor, Checking 

NOTE:  Ignition coils and power output stages are one component and cannot be replaced individually.

Test sequence

-

Disconnect 4-pin connector -2- from ignition coil with power output stage to be checked -1-.
