Remove securing nuts -arrows 3-.

-

Open locking mechanism of connector in direction of (arrow -1-) and disconnect connector from control module -2-.

Continue for all vehicles

Remove old control module.

-

Insert new control module and bolt firmly.

-

Connect connector to control module and lock.

Rest of installation is in reverse order of removal.

-

Check whether new control module identification matches the old control module identification.

Vehicles with 09G transmission

When harness connectors are disconnected from Transmission Control Module (TCM) or the battery is disconnected, all adaptation values in the control
module are erased. DTC memory content will remain intact however. If the engine is started after this, rough, uneven idle can result for a short time. In
this case, the readiness code must be generated again.

Continue for all vehicles

If Transmission Control Module (TCM) -J217-was replaced:

Code the Transmission Control Module (TCM):
VAS5051 Vehicle Diagnostic, Testing and Information System; Guided Fault Finding; Vehicle System Test or VAS5052; Vehicle Self-Diagnosis
