Parallel Running, Checking and Adjusting
NOTE:
-
A malfunctioning rear spoiler or a build-up of stress in the technicians of the rear spoiler may occur if the parallel running is not set correctly.
When operating the rear spoiler "manually" the rear spoiler may not stop in a raised or lowered position but may raise and lower continuously.

A cause of non parallel running is wear in the cables in the area of the rear spoiler drive unit or a worn drive gear wheel.

Raise rear spoiler "manually".
Checking
NOTE:

The illustration shows the guide channel gate (gate guide) on the left-hand side.

The left and right-hand side guide channels (gate guides) - 1 - must be in the same position (parallel). When the rear spoiler is raised the dimension
- a - on both guide channels (gate guides) - 1 - must be the same.
Adjusting

Remove lower tailgate trim.

Remove rear spoiler drive.

Move the left and right-hand guide channels (gate guides) - 1 - towards the outer sides of the vehicle - arrow - onto their respective limit stops by
hand (position: rear spoiler raised fully).

Install rear spoiler drive.

After completing the installation of the drive, lower and raise the rear spoiler completely "manually".
"Manual" Rear Spoiler, Raising and Lowering
"Manual" Rear Spoiler, Raising And Lowering
Rear Spoiler Switch E127 is located below instrument panel (near steering column) for raising and lowering rear spoiler "manually". "Manual" raising
and lowering of rear spoiler is only possible when vehicle is stationary and at speeds below 150 km/h.
