Shift Cable: Service and Repair

Selector lever cable, removing and installing, 09G, 6 Spd. A/T 

Removing 
-

Check whether a coded radio is installed. If so, obtain anti-theft coding.

-

Move selector lever to Tiptronic gate.

-

With ignition switched off disconnect battery Ground strap.

-

Disconnect intake hose - 1 - and connector - 2 - from mass air flow sensor.

-

Disconnect secondary air injection pump hose - 3 - from air cleaner housing.

-

Remove bolts - 4 -, - 5 - and - 6 -.

-

Remove air cleaner complete.

-

Press selector lever cable - 1 - off selector shaft lever - 3 - with, e.g. 10 mm open end wrench - 2 -.

-

Press locking devices on selector lever cable support mounting together - arrows - and pull selector lever cable out of transmission support
mounting.

-

Remove selector lever cable - 1 - from clip - arrow - on transmission.

-

Raise vehicle.
