Brake caliper housing pin - arrow - must be behind wheel bearing housing guide!

Tighten brake caliper housing to brake carrier using both guide pins.

Install both protective caps.

Attach brake hose to brake caliper housing.

Remove brake pedal actuator (V.A.G 1869/2).

Insert connector for brake pad wear indicator into bracket at suspension strut.

Bleeding brake system:

Mount wheels.
‹› Depress brake pedal several times firmly before moving vehicle to properly seat brake pads in their normal operating position.
‹› Check brake fluid level.

‹› Torque wrench (V.A.G 1331)
‹› Brake pedal actuator (V.A.G 1869/2)
Removing
The work sequence applies only for replacement, or the following service work on the brake caliper housing.

Remove wheel.
-
Disconnect harness connector - 1 - on vehicles with brake pad wear indicator.
