Generic OBD II Scan Tool Not Displaying DTC P1624, P1847
Generic Scan Tool (GST) does not display DTC P1624 and P1847. No DTCs will be displayed for a MIL ON and ABS MIL ON condition.
Tip:
DTCs are displayed correctly on VAS 5051/5052 scan tool or other enhanced scan tools.
Technical Background
Engine Control Module (ECM) -J220- is requested to illuminate the MIL by the DSG* Mechatronic -J743-, which is caused by a software error between
the ABS Control Module -J104- and DSG Mechatronic -J743-.
* DSG is Volkswagen Group's trademark for double clutch transmission.
MIL illuminates and DTCs P1624 and P1847 are generated as follows:
