Side Airbag For Driver's/Front Passenger's Sides From 05.03, Removing and Installing

Removing

-

Disconnect battery ground (GND) strap.

-

Remove driver's/front passenger's seat as applicable (install airbag adapter VAS 5094).

-

Remove backrest frame.

-

Remove backrest cover 05.03.

-

Remove backrest padding.

-

Unclip wiring harness -4- -arrows-

-

Remove bolt -3-.

-

Remove airbag unit -2- from backrest frame -1-.

Installing

-

Connect battery ground (GND) strap.

-

Close doors.

-

After installing all components switch ignition on.

WARNING:  Never let anyone stay in the passenger compartment when the airbag system is being worked on, especially when the airbag
system is being connected to a power source or the battery is being reconnected.

NOTE:  After reconnecting battery, make sure vehicle equipment (radio, clock, electric windows) is checked.
