Battery - New Beetle Sedan From 12.02, Removing and Installing
Battery - New Beetle Convertible From 08.02, Removing and Installing
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items needed

VAG 1331 Torque wrench (or equivalent 5 - 50 Nm)
Removing
-
Disconnect battery.
-
Remove battery shield by pressing retainer clips -arrows- and pulling upwards -double arrows-.
-
Remove bolt -1- and battery hold-down bracket -2-.
