Reinstall roof frame trim panel

Close convertible top, pull down the handle for locking the top, turn the handle counterclockwise as far as the stop, pull the top down and turn
the handle clockwise

Push the handle up into the recess

-

Destroy and properly dispose of removed parts, as well as the extra part from the repair kit

Proceed to Section E

Section D - Additional Repair Information

If cable guide -A- needs to be replaced, install new cable guide that came on the new short lower cable, using rivet (1Y0 871 996 B)

If cable guide -B- needs to be replaced, install new cable guide that came on the new short lower cable, using rivet (1Y0 871 996 B) and a new
bushing (1Y0 871 180) from the repair kit

NOTE:  Most vehicles will not need these cable guides replaced

If there is no hole in the frame -arrow- to which cable guide for the long upper cable can be attached, a hole must be drilled
