Condition

Instrument Cluster, Incorrect Adaptation when using Brand CD 10.76 (U.S. ONLY)

Incorrect instrument cluster adaptation software has been identified in Brand CD 10.76.

Note:

Following this procedure as outlined will have no adverse effect on the odometer.

Until this issue has been corrected on Brand CD 10.77.01 for the Passat, Eos, and GTI and on Brand CD 11.78.00 for the Jetta, please follow service
procedure below when adapting instrument cluster to vehicle.

Technical Background

Scan tool software adapts incorrect mileage when using Guided Fault Finding (GFF) on an instrument cluster coded to miles.

To correctly adapt the new instrument cluster:

1.

Change/code the old instrument cluster to Kilometers.

2.

Run the GFF Function test to replace the Instrument cluster.

3.

Change/code the New Instrument cluster from kilometers back to miles.
