Make sure the seal fits correctly.

Install the knurled nut - 1 - from the inside and tighten it to 1 Nm.

Install the cap on each side inside the luggage compartment.

Make sure the tail lamps are working correctly.

‹› Trim Removal Wedge (VAS 3409)

‹› Removing the right tail lamp assembly is shown in the illustrations. 

‹› The New Beetle Convertible has a grille instead of a cover.

CAUTION!
‹› Turn off the ignition and all electrical components.

‹› Remove the ignition key.

Pry off the cover with a screwdriver.
