Removal
-
Switch off the ignition.
-
Open the front doors.
-
Disconnect the battery ground cable.
CAUTION!
Make sure on one is in the vehicle when working on airbag system, especially if airbag system is connected to power source or battery is
reconnected.

Release steering column adjuster.
-
Turn steering wheel - 1 - until the steering wheel spoke is in a vertical position. Pull out steering column entirely and push into lower position.

Secure steering column adjustment.

Insert a slot-head screwdriver (removal tool JC 1000 in the USA) with a blade width of approximately 8 mm and a shaft length of approximately
70 mm into the opening on the rear side of the steering wheel. (Press the wide side of the screwdriver blade to the outside of the steering wheel).
