NOTE:

Ignition coils and final output stages are one component and cannot be replaced individually.

The ignition coil primary resistance cannot be measured.

Hand multimeter V.A.G 1526 or multimeter VAG 1715

Wiring diagram
Check conditions

Battery voltage at least 11.5 V
-
Engine speed sender OK See: Computers and Control Systems/Engine Speed Sensor/Testing and Inspection

Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor must be OK See: Camshaft Position Sensor/Testing and Inspection

All fuses must be OK.
Checking voltage supply

Disconnect 6-pin connector from ignition coils with power output stage (N70, N127, N291, N292) -arrow-.
