Removing and installing rear door positioning elements > < Removing

Passat (B3)

Installing
Installing
–  Fit pressure line and multi-pin connector, check attachment.
–  Insert positioning element with preassembled screws and tighten.
–  Hook pressure line in clips.
–  Install inner release handle and pull rod.
–  Positioning element and door lock must be in locked position (down) for assembly of connecting rod.
  Note
Rotary latch of door lock must be in closed position (2nd detent or main detent) on driver's door.
   
–  Locking plate -3- must be engaged -arrows-.
–  Press in connecting rod -1- stress-free and close hinge -2-.
  WARNING
Do not pull down connecting rod when pushing in.

–  When closing, hinge -2- must turn and disengage locking plate -1-.
–  Perform functional check.
–  Install trim.
