  Note
t  Obtain radio unit code before disconnecting battery.
t  After reconnecting the battery, ensure vehicle equipment (radio, clock, electric window regulators) is checked as per Workshop manual/Owner's manual.
  WARNING
Refer to safety precautions when working on the airbag → Chapter.
–  Disconnect battery earth strap → Rep. Gr.27.
–  Unscrew front passenger side storage compartment → Chapter.
   
–  Remove cross-head screws -2- and -3-.
–  Swing out airbag unit from dash panel and take off upwards from retaining lugs -5-.
  WARNING
Electrostatic discharges may result in unintentional triggering of the airbag. Therefore, the mechanic must electrostatically discharge himself/herself before disconnecting the igniter and earth wires. This can be done by briefly touching the body or striker plate of the door.
–  Unclip and separate connector from bracket -4-.
