Repairing rear electric window regulators –  Remove electric window regulator → Chapter.

–  Fully unscrew securing bolts for gear mechanism cover -arrows-.

–  Pull off cable drum by hand in -direction of arrow- from gear mechanism housing by rocking lightly.

–  Pull off assembly cover from new motor in -direction of arrow-.   Note Surfaces/parts coated with grease must not come into contact with dust or dirt. Add only genuine grease -G 00 450 02-.

–  Pull off drive gear in -direction of arrow- from gear shaft. Note spacer.   WARNING Damping element -1- must locate exactly in recesses of cable drum.

–  Place drive gear -2- in cable drum, fit spacer -3- to drive gear.

–  Join motor for window regulator in -direction of arrow- with cable drum.

–  If gear mechanism housing cannot be joined with cable drum onto stop, alter position of drive gear by moving follower slightly until it engages.

–  Check correct position of cable on cable drum.

–  Screw in securing bolts and tighten in prescribed sequence (3 Nm).   Note Perform functional check prior to installation. Replacement of mechanical parts (linkage/cable) is performed in the same way.
