Removing and installing backrest cover and padding
   
Removing and installing backrest cover and padding
1 - Seat cover
q   Removing:
q   Separate seat frame and backrest frame → Chapter.
q   Unhook clip profile → Item completely on underside.
q   Sport seat: unhook tensioning wires → Item at securing points → Item.
q   Push cover upwards.
q   Sport seat: cut through padding clips → Item.
q   Unhook padding wire → Item.
q   Remove guides → Item and → Item and take off cover.
2 - Padding wire (normal and sport seat)
q   Hooked into padding; hook and unhook using awl -V.A.G 1636-.
3 - Padding wire (sport seat only)
q   Hook in at top on lateral padding wire, at bottom on securing point → Item
q   Secure lateral padding wire with padding clips on top cross member → Item
4 - Padding clips (qty. 3, sport seat only)
q   Fit using padding clip pliers -V.A.G 1634-
5 - Padding
6 - Backrest frame
7 - Cross member
q   Attachment for padding wires on backrest frame - sport seat only
8 - Guide (CL equipment)
q   To remove, push up cover, press ends of guide together and pull out
9 - Guide (GL and GT equipment)
q   To remove, push back locking lug -arrow- with screwdriver and pull out guide
10 - Trim (taxi only)
11 - Cross-head screw
12 - Protective strip
q   Attach with universal adhesive -D 001 200-
13 - Padding wire securing point
14 - Clip profile
q   Can be found on front and rear side of cover
