Removing sliding headliner for sliding/tilting sunroof > < Installing

Passat (B3)

Checking and adjusting parallel running
   
Checking and adjusting parallel running

Checking and adjusting can be done with panel installed and sliding headliner pushed back.
–  Disconnect battery earth strap from battery.
–  Unclip interior light and remove cover for cable drive.
–  Unscrew cable drive. Clean thread prior to installation using wire brush and coat with locking compound -D 185 400 A2- (securing bolts are microencapsulated).
–  Tightening torque = 3 Nm.
  Note
The drive pinion should no longer be connected with the cables.
   
–  Slide rear guides only from front towards rear to marks (notches) -arrows-.
–  Lugs -3- must be within marks (notches) -arrows-.
–  Detent hooks -4- must be engaged in guide rails.
