Checking glow plug current consumption with V.A.G 1315A
Test sequence
-
‒ Connect current supply to tester.
-
‒ Place glow plug cable in current clamp.
-
‒ Press button for current measurement with current clamp.
-
‒ Preglow, start engine and run at idling speed.
-
‒ During extended glow period (approx. 180 sec.) read current consumption with engine running.
The current consumption of the glow plugs during the extended glow period is approx. 8 Amp. per glow plug. With a glow plug current consumption of:
