Special tools, testers and auxiliary items

• ◆ Hand multimeter V.A.G 1526 or multimeter V.A.G 1715
• ◆ Adapter set V.A.G 1594

Test sequence

• ‒ Pull connector and H.T. cable off ignition transformer (N152).
• ‒ Connect multimeter using aux. cables from V.A.G 1594 to measure resistance.

• ‒ → Check ignition transformer primary resistance with hand multimeter V.A.G 1526 between terminals 1 and 15.
       Specification: 0.5...1.2 ω
• ‒ Check ignition transformer secondary resistance with hand multimeter between terminals 4 and 15.
       Specification: 3...4 kω

If the specifications are not attained:

• ‒ Replace ignition transformer (N152) =>Page 28-2 , item 7 .
