Removing
Removing
–  Obtain radio code on vehicles with coded radio.
–  Disconnect battery
–  Unbolt coolant expansion tank and move to side.
   
–  Release connector on control unit and pull off.
–  Fit bleeder bottle hose to the front left brake caliper bleed screw and open bleed screw.
–  Depress brake pedal at least 60 mm.
–  Fit brake pedal depressor -V.A.G 1238 B-.
–  Close front left bleeder screw.
–  Remove heat shield from tandem brake master cylinder.
–  Disconnect brake lines at brake master cylinder and hydraulic unit, and seal brake lines and threaded holes with plugs from repair kit Part No. 1H0 698 311 A.
–  Remove Torx socket head bolts -T25- on hydraulic unit bracket.
–  Remove hydraulic unit.
–  Unplug connector for hydraulic pump motor from control unit.

–  Remove bolts for control unit and pull control unit off.
When pulling off, ensure that the control unit is not tilted.
Cover control unit solenoids with a lint-free cloth.
After separating control unit/hydraulic unit use transportation protection for valve contact pin → .
