Installing drive shaft for Passat (B3) front suspension repair

Installing
–  Remove any remaining locking fluid from splines on outer drive shaft joint and splines of wheel hub. (Splines must be oil and grease free).
   
–  Coat the splines with fixing agent -D 185 400 A2- as shown in diagram. Bead diameter approx. 3 mm.
–  Insert drive shaft.
–  Bolt swivel joint to suspension link.
–  Tighten bolts securing drive shaft to flange shaft/gearbox.

–  Install new 12-point nut on drive shaft and tighten.
  Note
t  To tighten 12-point nut we recommend the torque wrench -V.A.G 1756-.
t  Only loosen and tighten with the vehicle standing on its wheels (danger of accident)
Specified torques:
Drive shaft to flange shaft/gearbox: 45 Nm.
Drive shaft to wheel bearing housing: 90 Nm and turn 45° (1/8 turn) further.
Swivel joint/suspension link: 35 Nm.
