Installing > < Removing and installing suspension link (Plus running gear)

Removing
Removing
–  Only tighten 12-point nut when vehicle is standing on wheels.
–  Unbolt drive shaft from gearbox flange shaft.
–  Unscrew bolts -arrows A-.
–  Loosen bolt -arrow B-.
   
–  Separate swivel joint/suspension link (First mark installation position).

–  Swing wheel with suspension strut outwards and support.
  V40-1320
–  Apply ball joint puller as shown in the illustration and press out swivel joint.
1 - Matra press -V176-
  Note
t  Place engine and gearbox jack -V.A.G 1383 A- or similar underneath (danger of accident through falling parts when pressing out the swivel joint).
t  Leave nut screwed on a few turns to protect thread on swivel joint.
