Open threaded connection (arrow) and absorb exiting fuel using a rag.

-

Connect pressure gauge (VAG1318 using adapters VAG1318/6 and 1318/7) to supply line -1- and fuel distributor.

Open shut-off valve of pressure gauge. The lever points in the direction of flow.

Start engine and let run at idle.

Measure fuel pressure.
Specified value: about 3.5 bar positive pressure

Disconnect vacuum hose from fuel pressure regulator (arrow). Fuel pressure should rise to about 4.0 bar positive pressure.

NOTE:  If fuel should escape at the vacuum connection of the pressure regulator, replace fuel pressure regulator

If specified value is not obtained:

-

Delivery quantity of Fuel Pump (FP) OK, check, Fuel Pump (FP), checking.
