Drivers Side/passengers Side Head-level Airbag (Recaro Seat), Removing And Installing

NOTE:  Removal and installation is described for right side of vehicle. The same instructions apply for removal and installation for the left-hand side.

Removing

CAUTION:  Observe safety precautions for working on airbags.

Remove Recaro seat.

-

Remove trim, backrest mounting bracket.

-

Remove seat side trim on door sill side.

-

Disconnect wiring harness - 5 - from seat frame.

-

Remove bolt - 4 - from tab - 6 - and backrest - 1 - (10 Nm).

-

Press side-airbag - 2 - downward as far as it will go.

-

Pull side airbag toward outside, side airbag engaging pins - 3 - are pulled out of holes - 7 -.

Installing

-

Installation is the reverse order of removal.

-

Switch ignition on.

CAUTION:  Make sure no one is in the vehicle.

Connect vehicle battery.
