Remove bolts -.

CAUTION:  Electrostatic charges may result in involuntary deployment of the airbag. Therefore, the mechanic must be electrostatically
discharged before disconnecting ignition - and Ground (GND) wires. This is done e.g. by briefly grasping the chassis or door striker.

Disconnect connector - from airbag unit -.

-

Pull off airbag unit - from backrest frame -.

Installing

-

Installation is the reverse order of removal.

-

Switch ignition on.

CAUTION:  Make sure no one is in the vehicle.

Connect vehicle battery.

NOTE:  Removal and installation is described for right side of vehicle. The same instructions apply for removal and installation for the left-hand side.

Removing

CAUTION:  Observe safety precautions for working on airbags.

Remove Recaro seat.

-

Remove trim, backrest mounting bracket.

-

Remove seat side trim on door sill side.
