Removing Transmission Control Module (TCM) J217

Removing Transmission Control Module (TCM) J217, 01V, 5 SPD. A/T (AWD)

Remove right lower A-pillar trim and right door sill molding

^

Loosen carpet and fold upward.

^

Unclip control module from box - arrows

^

Switch ignition off and then wait 30 seconds before disconnecting multi-pin harness connector.

^

Release multi-pin harness connector, then disconnect harness connector from control module.

Installing Transmission Control Module (TCM) J217

Installing Transmission Control Module (TCM) J217, 01V, 5 SPD. A/T (AWD)

Insert multi-pin harness connector in connector housing of transmission control module - 1 -, swing in - 2 - and engage - 3 -.

If control module was replaced, it must be coded. To do so:

Connect VAS5051 A and advance program until "Function/component selection" is displayed

^

Then press "Powertrain (Repair Group 01; 1026; 2839)".

After that "5 Spd. Automatic Transmission 01V'.

^

Press "01 - On Board Diagnostic".

^

Press "electrical components".

^

Press "Transmission Control Module (TCM) -J2172".

^

Press "Code control module".
