For vehicles with noise insulation - D -, remove bolts - arrows C -.

Place drip tray V.A.G. 1306 underneath.
^
Remove drain plug - arrow -.
^
Drain ATF.
^
Loosen the oil pan bolts in a diagonal pattern and remove oil pan.
^
Unscrew the two oil strainer bolts - arrows -.
^
Pull off oil strainer from valve body.
^
Pry off securing clamp - arrow - from connector for wiring harness.
^
Disconnect connector - A - from Transmission Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) G38.
^
Disconnect harness connector - B - from Transmission Input Speed (RPM) Sensor G182.
^
Only remove bolts designated by an arrow from valve body.
