Clutch pedal and over-center spring, removing and installing, 012/01W, 5 SPD. M/T

Removing

Remove drivers side storage compartment.

Make sure that clutch pedal switch - 3 - is not pushed out of securing clip. Clutch pedal switch will be damaged and must be replaced.

In order to assure sufficiently secure fitting, clutch pedal switch - 3 - must not be installed more than once.

Release operating rod/master cylinder from clutch pedal as follows:

Position standard needle-nose pliers - 1 - into depressions of clutch pedal.

Press mount - 2 -.

Pull clutch pedal slightly into passenger compartment.

Pull operating rod and mount out of clutch pedal toward engine compartment - direction of arrow -

Press clutch pedal securing clip - arrow 1 - off of pivot pin using screwdriver.

Unthread bolt - arrow 2 -.

^

Press clutch and brake pedal pivot pin toward right until clutch pedal can be removed.

^

If necessary, press brake pedal securing clip off of mounting bracket using screwdriver.

^

Remove clutch pedal and over-center spring.
