Install retainer 3028 and remove pinion shaft nut.
Note: Re-use previously installed hex nut for securing flange to pinion shaft. Otherwise the original installation position will not be found again.

Place drip tray underneath.

Pull off flange using puller VW 391.

Thread two hex head bolts M8 x 30 - A - into flange.

Pull out seal.
