To remove drive flange, bolt Puller T10037 to differential cover - arrow -.

Remove drive flange seal using Extractor Lever VW 681.
^
Remove Speedometer Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS).
Replacing drive gear for speedometer:
^
Press retaining clips in direction of arrows using screwdriver.
^
Remove drive gear by prying off on alternating sides.
Installing
Installation is the reverse of removal, noting the following:
Installed position:
The drive peg of the drive gear - A - faces seal - B - and locks into groove in the differential.
